The professional organization of insurance intermediaries was founded on October 5, 1995 under the name Slovak Association of Insurance Brokers (SAMP).
On October 7, 2005, the organization changed its name to the Slovak Association of Insurance Intermediaries (SASP).
The Association brings together domestic and foreign non-life insurance intermediaries who operate in Slovakia and currently has 37 members.
Since 1998, SASP has been a full member of the European Federation of Insurance and Financial Intermediaries – BIPAR.
The SASP is an independent professional organization. Its members always stand on the client's side, their goal is to help clients correctly identify the insurance needs, orient themselves in the offer of financial products and choose the optimal solution, not only in terms of price, but above all in terms of the scope and quality of insurance coverage.

Providing independent, high-quality and professional service has long been one of the basic principles of SASP members' activities. The promotion of this philosophy is enshrined in the Code of Ethics for Insurance Brokers, which the association has adopted.
SASP is a trusted partner for state institutions – the National Bank of Slovakia, the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic – it represents the interests of its members in the legislative process and comments on draft new laws and measures.

The Association represents its members in relation to partner organizations such as the Slovak Association of Insurance Companies (SLASPO), the Slovak Association of Risk Management (SARM), the Slovak Insurers' Bureau, etc.
